The Creative Learning Project currently carries out its mission by providing "Learning Through Creativity" classes in the Institute Mohamed Benabdallah School Group and Al Manal School in Fes where children learn elementary math, science, language, and music while enhancing their small motor skills and critical thinking abilities through the creation of art and craft items. These classes have been in existence since September, 2001 and have shown some success among children who have participated and have been praised by the parents of the students as well as appreciated by the teachers. A three year curriculum has been produced with additional material added as needed.
The Project seeks to train Moroccan teachers in the philosophy and practical application of creative learning and a 12 hour training course has been developed. To date about 25 teachers have taken the course. These trained teachers can then take the "Learning Through Creativity" program back to their individual schools and teach other children as well as train other teachers in its use both in the private and public sector.
Other facets of the program have included after school activity and special one time clubs which provide students with an opportunity to hear English spoken by native speakers and use the classroom English they have already learned in every day situations through games, art and craft projects, music and activities. Cultural Exchange and English Camps have been held where a multinational staff of teachers joined together to produce a camp for children and sometimes adults. These camps provide arts and craft classes, English classes, sports, field trips, and cultural exchange opportunities.
